AI on the Miro whiteboard that turns sticky notes into diagrams, docs and prototypes.
Quick take
Miro AI is the AI built into Miro, the online whiteboard. Select a pile of sticky notes and ask it to group them into themes, turn a brief into a flowchart or mind map, draft a doc or slides from what's on the board, or mock up a clickable app prototype. Sidekicks are AI helpers that work on the board where everyone can see them, and Flows chain several AI steps into a repeatable process, such as research notes to insights to a prototype.
Use it when the work is visual and done as a group: workshops, planning sessions, customer journey maps, retros. ChatGPT and Claude can draft the same content, but Miro puts it on a shared canvas your team can move around and vote on. Miro also has an official MCP server, so Claude or Cursor can read and edit your boards. For proper UI design, Figma is still the better tool.
The catch is credits. Starter gives 25 AI credits per member a month and Business 50, shared across the team. A diagram costs 5 and every prototype screen costs 5, so a busy team can burn through the month in a week. Prototypes and full Sidekicks need Business. Regular users also say Miro pushes AI too hard while basic bugs go unfixed. In September 2026 Bending Spoons, which bought Evernote and raised its prices sharply, agreed to buy Miro, so expect pricing changes.

Sticky note clustering
Select a wall of sticky notes and AI groups them into themes and writes a summary of each.
Diagrams from text
Describe a process and get an editable flowchart, mind map or diagram, including Mermaid code pasted onto the board.
Sidekicks
AI helpers that work on the board in view of the team, pull context from other tools and build out board content from a goal.
Flows
Chain AI steps into a visible, repeatable workflow, like research notes to insights to a prototype.
Prototypes
Generate clickable app screens from a prompt, a screenshot or board content, on the Business plan.
MCP and connectors
Claude, Cursor and other AI tools can read and write boards, and connectors link Slack, Jira, Notion and GitHub.

Which plan should you pick?
If you only whiteboard and dip into AI now and then, Starter is fine. If you want Sidekicks, Flows and prototypes, you need Business, and agencies benefit from its free client guests. Credits reset monthly and don't roll over, so buy a bundle before a big workshop week rather than mid-session.

Ways Miro AI can slot into your week.
Workshop wrap-up
After a client workshop, cluster 200 sticky notes into themes and turn them into a summary doc before everyone leaves the room.
Customer journey maps
Describe the customer's path in a few lines and have AI lay out an editable journey map to refine with the team.
Early app ideas
Turn a feature brief into clickable screens to test the idea with a client before anyone designs or builds it.
Process mapping
Ask for a flowchart of your onboarding or approval process, then tidy it up together on the board.
Miro holds the visual thinking, while Jira, ClickUp or Asana hold the tasks and Figma holds the final design. The MCP server means Claude can read a workshop board and write the follow-up plan.
