What is it?

Granola is a notepad that listens. It records the audio from your Mac or Windows machine during any call, so nothing joins the meeting, and when you hang up it turns your rough jottings and the transcript into clean, structured notes.

The difference from other notetakers is that it enhances your notes rather than replacing them. You type the three things you care about, Granola fills in the context. You can ask questions across past meetings, and its official Claude connection lets Claude pull up what was said in any meeting.

It was Mac-only for a long time and the mobile app is still catching up. If you need video recordings or a shared library for a big sales team, Fathom is better suited.

Who it's for

Founders, consultants and managers who sit in back-to-back calls and hate the awkward recording bot.

Best for

  • Client and sales calls
  • Interviews and one-on-ones
  • Bot-free recording
  • Asking questions across past meetings

Why it made the list

The most natural notetaker to actually use, and the no-bot approach keeps clients comfortable.
