Krisp

Removes background noise from your calls and takes meeting notes without a bot.

PaidFrom $16/user/moWorks with Claude Code

Quick take

  • The best-known fix for background noise on calls. Switch it on and the barking dog, traffic or café disappears for everyone on the call.
  • It also records and transcribes your meetings without a bot, so it can double as a notetaker.
  • No free plan any more, only a seven-day trial. Core is $8 a month on yearly billing but $16 monthly.
  • Watch for heavy CPU use on older laptops, and set a reminder before your renewal date.

What is Krisp?

Krisp sits between your microphone and your call app and strips out background noise: barking dogs, building work, keyboard clatter, a noisy café. It works in Zoom, Teams, Meet, Slack, Webex and Discord with one switch, and can clean up the other person's noise too. On top of that it records and transcribes your meetings from your computer, with no bot joining, and writes notes and action items.

Pick it when the problem is how you sound. Fathom, Granola and Fireflies take notes, but none of them fix a noisy room. Krisp also offers accent conversion, which softens a strong accent in real time so listeners understand you more easily, and a separate call centre product. If all you want is notes, a dedicated notetaker gives you more for less.

The catch is price. Krisp dropped its long-running free plan around the end of 2025, so after a seven-day trial you pay from $8 a month on yearly billing. Some users report high CPU use and odd audio on older Macs, and Trustpilot reviewers complain about surprise renewals and slow refunds.

Which plan should you pick?

Core on yearly billing covers almost everyone. Monthly billing is double the price, so only use it while you decide. Advanced is only worth it for sales teams that need Salesforce sync or lots of accent conversion; call centres should look at Krisp's separate Call Center plans.
