What is it?

HeyGen creates talking-head videos without a camera. Choose a stock presenter or record yourself once to make a digital twin, paste a script, and it produces a video of that person saying it.

The translation feature is the standout: upload a video of yourself and get it back in another language, with your voice and lip movements matched. It is widely used for explainer videos, personalised sales outreach and multilingual training. There is an API for automating video at scale.

Avatars are convincing but not perfect. Short, direct-to-camera clips land better than long ones.

Who it's for

Founders, marketers and trainers who need lots of on-camera video but hate filming.

Best for

  • Explainer and product videos
  • Translating your videos
  • Personalised sales videos
  • Training content at scale

Why it made the list

Its digital twins and video translation are the most convincing available, and it is simple enough to use in an afternoon.
