TurboScribe

Upload audio or video files and get accurate transcripts, unlimited, for one flat fee.

FreemiumFrom $20/mo

Quick take

  • Drop in an audio or video file and get a transcript back in minutes. No setup, no learning curve.
  • Unlimited is $20 a month or $120 a year for one person, with files up to 10 hours. Few tools come close on price.
  • The free plan gives three files a day of up to 30 minutes each, which is enough for many people.
  • It's for recordings you already have. For live meeting notes, Otter or Fathom suit better.

What is TurboScribe?

TurboScribe turns recordings into text. Upload audio or video files, such as interviews, podcasts, lectures, voice memos or webinar recordings, and it returns a transcript with timestamps and optional speaker labels. Export to Word, PDF, plain text or subtitle files, and translate the result into more than 130 languages. It's built on OpenAI's Whisper speech recognition and handles 98 languages.

It's for files you already have, not live meetings. If you want a bot that joins your Zoom calls and writes notes, use Otter or Fathom. TurboScribe is the cheap, simple choice when you have a pile of recordings to get through: the paid plan is unlimited for one person, with files up to 10 hours long and 50 at a time.

Speaker labels get muddled when several people talk over each other, and noisy audio drops words, so check quotes before you publish. There's no API or integrations, and all purchases are non-refundable.
