What is it?

Canva is the design tool for people who are not designers. Pick a template for a social post, flyer, deck or logo, swap in your words and images, and you are done.

Its AI features (branded Magic Studio, now folded into Canva AI) sit inside the editor: generate an image, remove a background, extend a photo, resize one design for every platform, or have it write the copy. You can also connect Canva to Claude so a chat can produce and export finished designs.

It is the right default for most small businesses. Serious brand designers will still want Figma or Adobe for fine control.

Who it's for

Anyone who needs good-looking marketing material regularly and does not have a designer on call.

Best for

  • Social media posts and stories
  • Quick decks and one-pagers
  • Resizing one design for every channel
  • Simple logos and brand kits

Why it made the list

No other tool gets a non-designer from blank page to a usable, on-brand design as quickly, and it works with Claude.
