Quick take

  • Built for AI agents: every plan includes an MCP server, CLI and API so Claude can write and schedule your posts.
  • Connects to 30+ networks, including Reddit, Discord, Telegram and WordPress, which most schedulers skip.
  • Free to self-host. Hosted plans start at $29 a month for 5 channels, or $23 billed yearly.
  • Small company with far less traffic than Buffer, and the app is rougher around the edges.

What is Postiz?

Postiz is a social media scheduler built so AI agents can use it. Every plan includes an MCP server, a CLI (a command you run in the terminal) and an API, so you can ask Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT or another agent to write and schedule your posts. It connects to 30+ networks, more than most schedulers, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, X, Reddit, Discord, Telegram, Pinterest, Bluesky and WordPress.

Inside the app you get a calendar, an AI copilot for writing, an image editor, AI images and videos, and a tool that cuts long YouTube videos into short vertical clips with captions. It can post follow-up comments, repeat evergreen posts and trigger actions when a post hits a set number of likes.

It's open source, with more than 40,000 stars on GitHub, so you can host it yourself for free if you're comfortable running a server. It's a small company with much less traffic than Buffer, and the app is less polished. The hosted version has no free plan, just a 7-day trial.
