What is Manychat?
Manychat automates your Instagram DMs. Its best-known trick is comment-to-DM: you post a Reel that says "comment GUIDE and I'll send you the link", and every person who comments that word gets a DM with the link within seconds, plus an optional public reply to their comment. The same triggers work on story replies, ads, lives and new followers, and you can ask people to follow you before the link is sent.
Behind each trigger is a flow you build by dragging blocks: send a message, ask a question, collect an email or phone number, tag the person, wait a day and follow up. Manychat AI (Pro plans and up) learns your business and tone of voice and answers DMs, FAQs and positive comments on its own, steering people towards a sale or a booking. It also runs on Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok, Telegram, SMS and email, and it's an official Meta Business Partner, so it uses Instagram's approved messaging API.
The catch: you pay per active contact, meaning each person you message in a month, so a post that goes viral can push you into overage fees. The free plan covers only 25 contacts a month, the AI starts on Pro, and Meta's rules only let automations message someone within 24 hours of their last interaction.
