Perplexity's free web browser with an assistant that reads your tabs and does tasks.

Opera Neon
Opera's agentic AI browser that browses, researches and builds things for you.
Quick take
- Opera's paid agentic browser. Neon Do clicks through sites and fills in forms, Neon Make builds reports and pages, and deep research writes long reports.
- Free since August 2026 for basic chat and for plugging in your own AI. The agents and top models need Standard at $19.90 a month.
- Reviewers rate the agent highly but find three separate modes confusing, and it's Windows and Mac only.
- Hidden instructions on web pages can steer any AI browser agent. Keep Neon Do away from banking and accounts that matter.
What is Opera Neon?
Opera Neon is the AI-first browser from Opera, the company behind Opera One and Opera GX. It launched to paying testers in September 2025 and opened to everyone in December 2025. It's built around an AI that can act, not just answer: Neon Chat answers questions, Neon Do takes over a tab and clicks, scrolls and fills in forms to finish a job, and Neon Make builds things like reports, simple web pages and images in the background. Tasks keep the tabs and chat for one project together, and Cards save prompts you reuse.
Since August 2026 there are two plans. Free gets you the browser, a basic chat, ad blocker and VPN, and lets you connect your own AI, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to control the browser through MCP or Opera's command line tool. Standard at $19.90 a month adds Neon's own agents, deep research, scheduled tasks, long memory, Google connectors and a choice of top models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, plus image and video generation. Pick Neon if you want a browser agent and like having several top models in one subscription; pick Comet if you want a capable free AI browser on every device; pick Dia if your work lives in Slack and Atlassian.
The catch is price and polish. Comet and Opera's own One and GX give you a good AI sidebar for nothing, so the $19.90 is for the agents. Reviewers like Neon Do but find the three separate modes confusing, and it's desktop only, still described by Opera as experimental. Like every agentic browser it can be tricked by hidden instructions on a web page: Brave researchers showed this in 2025 and Opera fixed that case the same day, but says the risk can't be fully removed. Keep the agent away from banking and anything you can't undo.
