Claude's agent mode: hand it a whole task across your files, apps and browser.

Claude in Chrome
Anthropic's Chrome extension that lets Claude click, type and fill in forms for you.
Quick take
- A Chrome extension that lets Claude read the page you're on and click, type and fill in forms for you, with your existing logins.
- Included with every paid Claude plan, from Pro at $20 a month. You don't need to switch browsers.
- The side panel is a full Claude Cowork session, so your skills and connectors work there and chats carry on in the Claude apps.
- Desktop Chrome only. Keep it away from banking and passwords, since a web page can try to hijack it.
What is Claude in Chrome?
Claude in Chrome is Anthropic's extension for the Chrome browser. It opens Claude in a side panel that can see the page you're on and act on it: clicking, typing, moving between pages and filling in forms, using the logins you already have. Ask it to pull last month's numbers from your analytics dashboard into a summary, sort a messy Google Drive, log this week's sales calls in Salesforce, or collect invoice totals from three supplier portals. It's most useful for websites that have no other way to connect to Claude, like old admin systems and vendor portals.
It came out of beta on 26 August 2026. Since August the side panel runs a full Claude Cowork session, so your skills, plugins and connectors work there and the conversation carries on in the Claude desktop and phone apps. Cowork can also use it as its browser for bigger jobs, and Claude Code can use it to test a website you're building. By default it works through a task without asking at every step, with a separate safety check reviewing each action before it happens. You can switch to a stricter mode where you allow it one site at a time. Pick it over an AI browser like Comet or Dia if you want to keep Chrome and already pay for Claude.
The catch: it only runs on desktop Chrome, not other Chromium browsers like Edge or Brave, and not on phones. A web page can hide instructions meant to trick it. Anthropic's tests show its defences now stop almost all of these attacks, but it says the risk isn't zero, so keep it away from banking, health records and passwords. It still stops and asks before purchases and other one-way actions. Browser tasks also use up your Claude limits faster than chat.

Claude in Chrome pricing
Which plan should you pick?
Pro is enough to see what it can do for you. Browser tasks use your limits faster than chat, so if you hand it real work every day you'll likely need Max. Teams should use the Team plan so an admin can control which sites Claude can use.
Prices in USD unless noted, checked 3 November 2026. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on their site before you buy.
