Napkin AI
Turns your text into clean diagrams, flowcharts and charts for slides and posts.
Quick take
- Highlight some text and it offers a handful of diagrams to choose from. You can have a usable visual in under a minute.
- Every visual is editable, so you can change text, icons and colours instead of starting again.
- Free gives you 500 credits a week, about 500 words turned into visuals, with Napkin branding on exports.
- Plus is $9 a month billed yearly and adds PowerPoint export, brand styles and no branding.
What is Napkin AI?
Napkin AI turns writing into visuals. Paste a paragraph, a list or a whole document, highlight the part you want to show, and it offers several diagrams to pick from: flowcharts, timelines, mind maps, comparisons, cycles and charts. You can then change the colours, icons, text and layout until it looks right, and export it for a slide deck, a LinkedIn post or a blog.
It can import PowerPoint, Word, PDF and Markdown files, and a new Slides feature (in beta) turns your notes into a full deck. Paid plans let you set brand styles and fonts, export to PowerPoint and SVG, and remove the Napkin branding. There's also an API for making visuals automatically.
The catch: the free plan adds Napkin branding to your visuals, and credits are charged roughly one per word you turn into a visual, so long documents use them up quickly. On self-serve plans, Napkin may use anonymised usage data to improve its AI unless you opt out in settings.
