What is it?

Airtable looks like a spreadsheet but works like a database. Each row is a record, columns have proper types (dates, files, links to other tables), and you can view the same data as a grid, a calendar, a kanban board or a gallery.

It is the fastest way for a non-technical team to build a CRM, content calendar, inventory list or client portal. Forms feed straight into it, automations fire when records change, and AI fields can summarise or categorise entries. Claude Code can read and update your bases through Airtable's API.

Per-user pricing adds up quickly, and the free plan caps how many records you can store. For a backend behind a public app, Supabase is the better fit; Airtable is for internal tools.

Who it's for

Marketers, operations people and small teams who need a shared database without a developer.
