Newsletter platform with AI writing help, built-in growth tools and ways to get paid.

Kit
Email newsletters for creators, free up to 10,000 subscribers, with sales and automations.
Quick take
- The email tool built for creators. Free covers up to 10,000 subscribers with unlimited newsletters, forms and landing pages.
- Automations, email sequences and the Kit MCP for Claude start on Creator at $39 a month, or $33 billed yearly, for 1,000 subscribers.
- You can sell digital products, paid newsletters and sponsorship slots from the same account.
- Plain, text-style emails are its strength. Online stores wanting designer layouts should look at Klaviyo or Omnisend.
What is Kit?
Kit (called ConvertKit until 2024) is an email tool built for creators: YouTubers, podcasters, coaches, authors and anyone selling courses or digital products. You collect subscribers with landing pages and sign-up forms, send newsletters (Kit calls them broadcasts) and tag people by what they're interested in. It's used by more than 550,000 creators, including James Clear, Tim Ferriss and Ali Abdaal.
The free plan is generous: up to 10,000 subscribers with unlimited landing pages, forms and newsletters, and you can sell digital products and paid subscriptions from day one. Paid plans add visual automations, email sequences (a set of emails that send in order, like a 5-day course), SMS and the Kit MCP, an official connector that lets Claude read your stats, tag subscribers and draft broadcasts with your approval. Kit's AI also suggests and tests subject lines in the editor.
The catch: automations and sequences, the things most creators want once a list grows, start at $39 a month for 1,000 subscribers. The editor is built for simple, text-style emails, so stores that want designer layouts and deep shop data are better off with Klaviyo or Omnisend.
