Julius AI

Upload a spreadsheet and ask questions in plain English to get answers and charts.

3.9our rating
Freemium

Quick take

  • Upload a file, ask a question, get a chart. No formulas or code needed.
  • Clear, specific questions get good answers; vague ones get generic charts.
  • The free plan only covers a handful of messages a month, so it is a taster, not a working plan.
  • If you already pay for ChatGPT or Claude, try their file analysis first: they do much of the same job.

What is Julius AI?

Julius is an AI data analyst. You upload a spreadsheet, CSV or PDF (or connect a database on higher plans), ask a question like "which products grew fastest last quarter?", and it writes and runs the analysis code for you, then shows the answer as a table or chart. You can keep asking follow-up questions, save reports and share them. If its code fails it usually spots the error and reruns it without you doing anything.

Pick Julius over ChatGPT or Claude when data analysis is the main job and you want saved notebooks, scheduled reports and connections to live data. ChatGPT and Claude can analyse a file you upload and are cheaper if you already pay for them. GPT for Work suits row-by-row AI tasks inside a spreadsheet, while Julius is for questions about the whole dataset.

The catch: the answer is only as good as the question. Vague prompts like "analyse this" give generic results, and it sometimes picks a different analysis than the one you asked for. The free plan is small, and the pricing page has changed several times this year.
