Grades your content against what ranks and tracks whether AI search mentions you.

Frase
Researches, briefs and drafts SEO articles, and tracks if AI search cites you.
Quick take
- Its content briefs are the standout. Users say they save two to three hours per article.
- Starter is $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly; most teams will want Professional at $129 ($103 yearly).
- Rebuilt from scratch in January 2026, now with AI search tracking and publishing. Older reviews describe a different product.
- AI drafts are a fair starting point but need editing for voice and facts.
- API, MCP server and CLI mean Claude can run research and briefs for you.
What is Frase?
Frase builds SEO articles from research to publish. Give it a target search and it pulls the top results and the questions people ask, builds a brief and outline, drafts the article in your brand voice and scores it for coverage. It was rebuilt in January 2026 and now also audits your existing pages, watches them for slipping (Content Guard), tracks whether ChatGPT, Google's AI, Perplexity and others cite you, and can publish straight to your CMS. It has an API, MCP server and CLI.
Pick it over Clearscope or Surfer if you want briefs and drafts in one cheaper tool: its entry plan is $39 a month billed yearly. Clearscope has the more trusted grading and Surfer more SEO extras; Writesonic leans harder into AI search visibility but costs more.
The catch: the rebuild is recent, so older reviews (glitchy interface, weak rewriting) may or may not still apply, and AI drafts still need a human edit to read well. Limits on articles and AI generations are tight on Starter.
