Free editor for TikToks and Reels, with auto captions and templates.

Microsoft Clipchamp
Microsoft's free video editor, with AI subtitles and voiceovers and no watermark.
Quick take
- A free editor with 1080p exports and no watermark, built into Windows 11 and available in any browser.
- AI subtitles, text-to-speech voiceovers and silence removal are included free.
- Premium (4K, premium stock and a brand kit) comes with Microsoft 365 Personal at $9.99 a month, so it's worth it if you'd pay for Office anyway.
- It's a basic editor. CapCut has far more effects and AI tools for social content.
What is Microsoft Clipchamp?
Clipchamp is Microsoft's video editor. It comes built into Windows 11, runs in any browser and has an iPhone app. The free version is unusually generous: unlimited exports at 1080p with no watermark, a screen and webcam recorder, and royalty-free stock video, music and stickers.
Its AI tools cover the basics well. It writes subtitles from your audio, makes voiceovers from text in lots of voices and languages, removes silences, and cleans up audio. There are templates for YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, and drag-and-drop editing that a beginner can pick up in an afternoon.
Premium adds 4K exports, premium stock, effects and a brand kit, and you get it by subscribing to Microsoft 365 Personal or Family. A work version is included in some Microsoft 365 business plans, and the fuller AI video features there need a Copilot licence.
