Records podcasts and video interviews remotely in studio quality, with AI editing.
Async
Record, edit and publish podcasts and videos, with AI that edits when you ask.
Quick take
- Podcastle is now called Async. It still records, edits, cleans up and publishes podcasts in one app.
- New chat-based video editing and AI generation (Kling, Veo, Seedance) run on monthly credits.
- Essentials at $11.99 a month billed yearly covers 4 hours of recording a month. Pro raises that to 20 hours.
- Riverside records better and Descript edits better, but Async does the whole job for less.
What is Async?
Async is the new name for Podcastle. It's still a full podcast studio: record remote guests in up to 4K, edit the audio by editing the transcript like a document, clean up sound with Magic Dust (its one-click enhancer), remove noise and silences, then publish to Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube from the same app.
The rebrand came with a wider AI suite. You can now edit video by telling a chat assistant what to cut or tighten, turn episodes into clips, and generate video, images, music, voices and sound effects with models like Kling, Seedance, Veo and Nano Banana. Dubbing, lip sync and a brand kit come on the Teams plan.
Everything AI runs on monthly credits, and recording and text-to-speech have hour limits per plan. It overlaps a lot with Riverside for recording and Descript for editing.
