Quick take

  • Turns a shared Gmail address into a team helpdesk without moving anyone to a new app.
  • Growth is $25 per user a month billed yearly ($35 monthly) and already includes AI agents and an AI copilot.
  • Pro ($55 yearly, $65 monthly) is where SLAs, CRM and Shopify connections and the API come in.
  • Users love how little training it needs, but report Gmail sync glitches and basic search.

What is Hiver?

Hiver turns shared email addresses like support@ or accounts@ into a proper team inbox. Emails can be assigned to a person, tagged, given a due time and discussed with private notes, so nothing gets missed or answered twice. It comes in two versions: Hiver in Gmail, which runs inside the Gmail your team already uses, and Hiver Omni, a separate app that also handles Outlook, live chat, Slack, WhatsApp and phone. Both include AI that drafts replies, answers routine requests on its own, and spots gaps in your help articles.

Pick Hiver when your team lives in Gmail and wants helpdesk features without learning a new tool. It suits customer support, but also finance, HR and operations teams working a shared mailbox. Zendesk and Intercom are stronger for large, multi-channel support teams; Hiver is simpler and cheaper. If you just want AI to sort and draft your own email, Fyxer or Superhuman are better fits.

The catch: users report the Gmail add-on can be glitchy, with slow loading, sync problems and having to log back in. Search and reporting are basic on the lower plan, and the integrations many teams want (CRMs, Shopify, the API) start on Pro. Seats are sold in blocks, from a minimum of two.

Give the accounts team a shared queue for invoices and payment queries with notes on each thread.

  3. 3
