Quick take

  • Built for one job: turning medical records into demand letters and chronologies for personal injury firms.
  • Demands are AI drafted and then checked by EvenUp's own reviewers, so turnaround is hours to days, not seconds.
  • Former staff told Business Insider the AI made errors humans had to fix. Always read demands before they go out.
  • Pricing is by quote, per case or by subscription. It is a US product.

What is EvenUp?

EvenUp is built for personal injury law firms. You upload a client's medical records, bills and case details and it produces a demand letter to the insurer, a medical chronology, and an estimate of what similar cases have settled for. It has grown into a wider case platform with intake, treatment tracking, negotiation prep, discovery and trial tools, plus an assistant called Companion with LexisNexis content built in. It says more than 2,000 personal injury firms use it.

Pick EvenUp if you run a plaintiff personal injury practice and demand letters eat your paralegals' time. General legal platforms like Harvey and CoCounsel are not built for plaintiff work and won't value a claim. You could draft demands with Claude or ChatGPT, but you would lose EvenUp's settlement data and its human review step.

The catch: EvenUp mixes AI with human reviewers, and Business Insider has reported former staff saying the AI made errors such as missed injuries and invented conditions, with humans doing much of the work. EvenUp says the human review is deliberate. Either way, read every demand before it goes out. Pricing is not published, and it is a US-focused product.
