Searches and answers questions across all your company's apps, with agents on top.

Box AI
Ask questions of, summarise and pull data from the files your company keeps in Box.
Quick take
- If your files are already in Box, this is the safest way to put AI on them: same permissions, no uploading elsewhere.
- Business plans include questions on one file at a time. Multi-file questions and Box Agent start at Enterprise Plus.
- Paid AI features use AI units that don't roll over; Business plans have to buy them separately.
- Admins can pick OpenAI, Anthropic or Google models, and Box says your content isn't used to train them.
- Box shows prices only for its cheapest plans; expect to talk to sales for the AI tiers.
What is Box AI?
Box AI is the AI built into Box, the cloud file storage service many larger companies use for contracts, HR records and other sensitive documents. Open a file and ask a question, get a summary, or draft new content from it. On higher plans you can ask across many files at once, use Hubs to query a whole collection, and run Box Agent for multi-step jobs like finding the right files and producing a report. Box Extract pulls fields such as dates, amounts and parties out of contracts, invoices and forms into structured data.
Pick Box AI when your company already stores its documents in Box. The AI works where the files already are, under the same permissions and security, so you don't have to upload contracts to a separate chatbot. Box lets admins choose between OpenAI, Anthropic and Google models and says your content isn't used to train them. If your files live in SharePoint or Google Drive, Microsoft 365 Copilot or Gemini do the same job there; for search across many apps, look at Glean.
The catch: AI use is metered in AI units. Business plans get single-file questions but no included units for the paid features, and multi-file questions and agents start at Enterprise Plus. Costs are hard to predict and Box doesn't show most plan prices openly, so expect a sales conversation.

Box AI pricing
Which plan should you pick?
If you want Box AI to be genuinely useful, Enterprise Plus is where multi-file questions and Box Agent start. On Business you only get single-file questions and must buy AI units. Ask sales to estimate your AI unit use before signing.
Prices in USD unless noted, checked 22 October 2026. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on their site before you buy.
