The best Claude skills for design, marketing, social media and writing, what each one does and how to install them in Claude Code or the Claude app.

On this page

These are the 15 best Claude skills right now. Each one teaches Claude to do a real job properly, like designing a website that doesn't look AI-made, running your LinkedIn or researching what people said online this month. They're all free. For each one you get what it does, who it's for, a prompt to try and how to install it.

The first five are the ones from my video: Taste Skill, Impeccable, the LinkedIn Agent, the Instagram Agent and Last 30 Days.

What is a Claude skill?

A skill is a folder of instructions that teaches Claude how to do one job properly. Think of it as a training manual. Claude reads it when the job comes up and follows the steps inside, so you get the same good result every time.

Skills are different from connectors (also called MCPs). A connector links Claude to another app, like Gmail or Canva. A skill teaches Claude how to do the work. You'll often use both together. My guide to the best Claude connectors covers the connector side.

Installing lots of skills won't slow Claude down. It only reads the name and a one-line description of each skill until a job needs it. Then it loads the full instructions.

How to install a Claude skill

Most of these skills are built for Claude Code, Claude's tool that runs on your computer. You don't need to code to use it. There are two ways to install them.

1. Paste the prompt into Claude Code (easiest). Each skill below has an install prompt. Paste it into Claude Code and it does the setup for you. Most skills install as a plugin, which is a skill packaged so it's easy to install and update.

2. Upload it to the Claude app. Some skills also work in the Claude app (claude.ai on the web, desktop or phone) on a paid plan. Put the skill's folder in a ZIP file, with its SKILL.md file inside the folder. Then open Customize, then Skills, click +, choose Create skill, then Upload a skill. If the upload fails, ask Claude to make an upload-ready ZIP for you.

After installing, restart Claude Code. You can then type the skill's command, like /last30days, or just ask for the job and Claude picks the right skill.

Design and websites

Taste Skill

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code

Taste Skill teaches Claude how to design like a real-world designer and stop it making AI slop. Most AI-built websites look the same. This skill works like an art director. It reads your brief, picks three design directions from 20 it has researched, chooses one and builds the page around it.

Then it checks its own work. It opens the page in a real browser at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, looks at screenshots and fixes the biggest problems, up to three rounds. It uses real credited photos too, so you don't get stock AI images. A full build takes 30 to 45 minutes, so save it for a page that matters.

Best for: homepages, landing pages, redesigning a dated site, dashboards.

Try asking: "Design a homepage for my bakery using the taste skill. Here's our story and menu. Show me the three directions before you pick one."

Prompt
https://github.com/Leonxlnx/taste-skill

Install Taste Skill as a Claude Code plugin by running: claude plugin marketplace add Leonxlnx/taste-skill, then claude plugin install taste-skill@taste-skill. Check I have Node.js 22 or newer and Chrome installed first, and install Node.js if I don't. Then tell me when to restart Claude Code.

Impeccable

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code

Impeccable forces Claude to design and build unique websites. Every AI model learned from the same website templates, so you see the same tells everywhere: purple-to-blue gradients, boxes inside boxes, the same font on everything. Impeccable spots those and steers Claude away from them.

It gives you 24 design commands, like polish, audit, critique, bolder and quieter. You type them after /impeccable, so /impeccable bolder the pricing cards. Run /impeccable init first and it writes down who your business is for and how it should feel, so every design choice after that fits your brand. Taste Skill is better for building a new page from scratch. Impeccable is better for improving one you already have.

Best for: polishing an existing site, design audits, fixing fonts and spacing, adding animation.

Try asking: "/impeccable polish the hero section of my landing page"

Prompt
https://github.com/pbakaus/impeccable

Install Impeccable in this project by running npx impeccable install. Check I have Node.js installed first, and install it if I don't. Then tell me to restart Claude Code and run /impeccable init.

Social media and marketing

LinkedIn Agent

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code

The LinkedIn Agent comes with 11 agents that run your LinkedIn like an entire growth team. Each one has a job. They write your posts, score your profile, plan your week, turn your videos and newsletters into posts, and help you reply to the comments and DMs that could turn into work.

It never logs in or posts for you. Every agent gives you text to copy into LinkedIn yourself, which keeps your account safe from LinkedIn's rules on automation tools. My full LinkedIn Agent guide walks through all 11 agents with prompts for each.

Best for: writing LinkedIn posts, fixing your profile, planning a week of content, turning comments into leads.

Try asking: "/li-post Write a post about the biggest mistake I see small businesses make with their website."

Prompt
https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/linkedin-agent-skill

Install all 11 skills from this repo globally so I can use them in any project. Copy every skills/li-* folder into ~/.claude/skills/. Make sure Python 3 is installed, and install it for my operating system if it isn't.

When you're done, list the 11 commands and confirm /li-post works.

Instagram Agent

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code

The Instagram Agent finds you viral ideas in your niche and writes original scripts. It's 13 skills in one pack. They rank the reels that beat each account's normal views, write your reels, captions, carousels and stories, score your profile and plan your week.

Like the LinkedIn Agent, it never logs in to your account. You check everything and post it yourself. My Instagram Agent guide has the full setup and the prompts I'd start with.

Best for: finding viral reel ideas, writing reel scripts, captions and carousels, fixing your profile.

Try asking: "/ig-reel Write a 30-second reel script about three AI tools that save me an hour a day."

Prompt
https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/instagram-agent-skill

Install all 13 skills from this repo globally so I can use them in any project. Copy every skills/ig-* folder into ~/.claude/skills/. Make sure Python 3 is installed, and install it for my operating system if it isn't.

When you're done, list the 13 commands and confirm /ig-reel works.

Marketing Skills

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code

Ask plain Claude for marketing copy and you get something generic. Marketing Skills is a free pack of 50 playbooks by Corey Haines, a conversion expert (someone who turns more visitors into customers). It covers copywriting, landing pages, email sequences, cold outreach, paid ads, launches and pricing.

You set up your product and audience once, and every other skill works from that. It checks your positioning before it writes a word. It leans towards online businesses, but most of it works for any business that sells online.

Best for: homepage and landing page copy, email welcome sequences, ad copy, launch plans.

Try asking: "Rewrite the copy on my homepage for a bookkeeping service aimed at tradies. Ask me about the business first so you get the positioning right."

Prompt
https://github.com/coreyhaines31/marketingskills

Install Marketing Skills as a Claude Code plugin by running: claude plugin marketplace add coreyhaines31/marketingskills, then claude plugin install marketing-skills@marketingskills. Then tell me when to restart Claude Code.

Claude SEO

Cost: free (optional paid data add-ons) · Works in: Claude Code

Claude SEO audits your website and gives you a fix list in order of what matters most. Run /seo audit with your website address and it checks your technical SEO, your content, your local search listing and whether you show up in AI answers like ChatGPT. Then it scores your site and tells you what to fix first, and why.

It's a big install. It sets up its own tools and a browser, and a full audit takes a while and uses a lot of your Claude usage.

Best for: full website audits, local business SEO, showing up in AI answers, content briefs.

Try asking: "/seo audit https://mybusiness.com.au"

Prompt
https://github.com/AgriciDaniel/claude-seo

Install Claude SEO as a Claude Code plugin by running: claude plugin marketplace add AgriciDaniel/claude-seo, then claude plugin install claude-seo@agricidaniel-claude-seo. Then tell me to restart Claude Code and run /seo setup.

Writing and research

Humanizer

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code and the Claude app

Humanizer rewrites AI text so it reads like a person wrote it. It's built on Wikipedia's guide to spotting AI writing and checks for 26 tells, like "it's not X, it's Y", "let that sink in" and "here's the thing". It marks each one, rewrites the text and checks its own rewrite.

It never makes up facts or numbers. Give it a sample of your own writing and it matches your voice. If you want a second option, Stop Slop does a similar job and also cuts the em dashes.

Best for: emails, newsletters, social captions, blog posts.

Try asking: "/humanizer Here are two paragraphs I wrote, so you can match my voice: [paste]. Now humanize this launch email: [paste]"

Prompt
https://github.com/blader/humanizer

Install Humanizer as a Claude Code plugin by running: claude plugin marketplace add blader/humanizer, then claude plugin install humanizer@humanizer. Then tell me when to restart Claude Code.

To use it in the Claude app, upload it as a ZIP (see How to install a Claude skill).

Last 30 Days

Cost: free (some sources need free API keys) · Works in: Claude Code

Claude only knows what it learned up to its training cut-off, so ask what's good right now and you get last year's answer. Last 30 Days scrapes Reddit, X, YouTube, Hacker News and other forums to give you what people said over the last month.

It ranks everything by real engagement, like upvotes and likes, then writes a summary with links so you can check the sources. Reddit and Hacker News work straight away. Run it once and a 30-second setup unlocks X, YouTube and TikTok.

Best for: content ideas, spotting trends, comparing tools, checking what customers think before a launch.

Try asking: "/last30days best AI tools for editing short-form video"

Prompt
https://github.com/mvanhorn/last30days-skill

Install Last 30 Days as a Claude Code plugin by running: claude plugin marketplace add mvanhorn/last30days-skill, then claude plugin install last30days@last30days-skill. Then tell me when to restart Claude Code.

Images, video and documents

Hyperframes

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code

Hyperframes lets Claude make motion graphics and videos for your projects. Describe a product intro, animated captions, a chart that builds itself or a title card, and Claude renders it as an MP4. It's from HeyGen, the AI avatar company.

It has ready-made workflows for product launch videos, explainers, captions for talking-head videos and slideshows. Videos render on your own computer, so there are no per-video fees.

Best for: motion graphics for your videos, product launch videos, animated captions, social promos.

Try asking: "Using Hyperframes, make a 10-second intro for my business with a fade-in title and subtle background music."

Prompt
https://github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes

Install Hyperframes as a Claude Code plugin (claude plugin marketplace add heygen-com/hyperframes, then claude plugin install hyperframes@hyperframes). Check I have Node.js 22 or newer and FFmpeg first, and install them if I don't. Then tell me when to restart Claude Code.

FFmpeg is a free tool that handles video files. Hyperframes needs it to export your videos.

Banana Claude

Cost: free skill, and you pay Google per image · Works in: Claude Code

I use Nano Banana, Google's image model, for my thumbnails and social images. Banana Claude brings it into Claude Code. It works like a creative director. It works out what you want, builds the prompt and shows you the plan before it spends any money.

It can make an image, edit one detail while keeping the rest the same, compare prompts side by side and check the result for messed-up text. It installs switched off on purpose, because every image costs money, and it asks before each paid request.

Best for: YouTube thumbnails, social images, product shots, fixing one detail in an image.

Try asking: "/banana-claude:banana make a 16:9 image of a sunlit cafe table with empty space on the left for text"

Prompt
https://github.com/AgriciDaniel/banana-claude

Install Banana Claude as a Claude Code plugin by running: claude plugin marketplace add AgriciDaniel/banana-claude, then claude plugin install banana-claude@banana-claude-marketplace, then claude plugin enable banana-claude@banana-claude-marketplace. Check I have Python 3.11 or newer first. Ask me for my Gemini API key when you need it, then tell me when to restart Claude Code.

You need a Gemini API key with billing turned on, from Google AI Studio. An API key is a code that links the skill to your Google account.

Document skills

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code and the Claude app

These are Anthropic's own skills for making real Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files. Without them, Claude can describe a document but struggles to build a properly formatted file. With them you get proper headings, tables, page numbers, formulas and slides that open cleanly in Office.

They can also edit files you already have, like adding tracked changes to a client's contract or filling in a PDF form. In the Claude app they're already built in, so just ask for the file. In Claude Code, one install adds all four.

Best for: proposals and reports, spreadsheets with real formulas, pitch decks, filling in PDF forms.

Try asking: "Turn this meeting summary into a one-page client proposal as a Word document, with a pricing table."

Prompt
Install Anthropic's document skills as a Claude Code plugin by running: claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/skills, then claude plugin install document-skills@anthropic-agent-skills. Then tell me when to restart Claude Code.

Get more out of Claude Code

Superpowers

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code

Superpowers has over 300,000 stars on GitHub, more than any other skill on this list. It makes Claude plan before it builds. Before writing any code, it asks what you're trying to do, writes a short plan you can read and breaks the work into small steps. Then it tests its own work as it goes.

Claude's habit is to start building straight away and drift off course. With Superpowers, big jobs stay on track. That makes it great for non-coders building a website or tool with Claude Code. For a tiny change the questions can feel like overkill, so just tell it to skip them.

Best for: building a website or tool from scratch, fixing a stubborn bug, turning an idea into a plan.

Try asking: "I want to add a booking form to my site that emails me and adds the booking to a Google Sheet. Let's start by brainstorming what it needs to do."

Prompt
Install Superpowers as a Claude Code plugin by running: claude plugin install superpowers@claude-plugins-official. Then tell me when to restart Claude Code.

Claude-Mem

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code

Claude Code forgets everything when you close a session. Claude-Mem gives it a memory. It records what Claude did and learned, shrinks it into short summaries and loads the right ones back in next time.

That means no more re-explaining your project every morning. You can even ask "why did we drop the annual plan option?" and it can tell you. When you install it, choose to keep everything on your computer unless you want its paid hosted option.

Best for: long projects, remembering past decisions, switching between projects.

Try asking: "What did we decide about the pricing page last week, and why?"

Prompt
https://github.com/thedotmack/claude-mem

Set up Claude-Mem for Claude Code by running npx claude-mem install. Walk me through each choice it asks me to make, and keep my memory stored on my own computer. Then tell me when to restart Claude Code.

Caveman

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code

If you keep hitting your Claude usage limit, install this. Caveman makes Claude answer in short, straight-to-the-point replies with no greetings or recaps. It also shrinks long logs and files before Claude reads them. Its makers say it cuts token use (how usage is measured) by up to 75%, and JetBrains tested it with no drop in quality.

Code and commands stay exactly as they are. Use /caveman for shorter replies, or /ultracave and /megacave for even shorter ones.

Best for: stretching your usage limits, long Claude Code sessions, quick answers.

Try asking: "/caveman why is my website's contact form not sending emails?"

Prompt
https://github.com/JuliusBrussee/caveman

Install Caveman by running npx @caveman-ai/cli@latest. Check I have Node.js 22.13 or newer first, and install it if I don't. Show me what it's going to change before it switches on.

Skill Creator

Cost: free · Works in: Claude Code and the Claude app

Skill Creator is Anthropic's skill for making your own skills. Explain a job you want done the same way every time, like your weekly client report or your tone of voice. It writes the skill, tests it on a few examples and tightens it up based on the results.

This is where skills pay off most. Every process you explain to Claude more than twice should become a skill.

Best for: your house writing style, weekly reports, client onboarding checklists, fixing a skill that keeps getting it wrong.

Try asking: "Create a skill that writes our weekly client email update in our house style. Here are three past examples. Test it and show me the results."

Prompt
Install Skill Creator as a Claude Code plugin by running: claude plugin install skill-creator@claude-plugins-official. Then tell me when to restart Claude Code.

FAQ

Are Claude skills free?

Every skill on this list is free. A few use paid services behind the scenes. Banana Claude charges per image through Google, and Claude SEO has optional paid data add-ons. You do need a paid Claude plan to use Claude Code.

What's the difference between a Claude skill and an MCP?

A skill teaches Claude how to do a job, like design a page or write a LinkedIn post. An MCP (or connector) links Claude to another app, like Gmail or Canva, so it can act inside that app. Many setups use both.

Do Claude skills work in the Claude app?

Some do, on a paid plan. The document skills are built in, and you can upload others like Humanizer as a ZIP under Customize, then Skills. Skills that need extra software on your computer, like Hyperframes or Taste Skill, only work in Claude Code.

Are Claude skills safe to install?

A skill can tell Claude to run things on your computer, so only install skills from people you trust. Every skill on this list is open on GitHub, where anyone can read the instructions inside. If you're unsure, ask Claude to read the skill and tell you what it does before you install it.

How do I uninstall a skill?

For plugins, type /plugin in Claude Code, pick the plugin and choose uninstall. For skills copied into a folder, like the LinkedIn and Instagram Agents, ask Claude to delete that skill's folder from ~/.claude/skills.

Where can I find more Claude skills?

My skills library lists every skill I rate, with what each one does and how to install it. It also shows which ones are trending this week.
