Which plan to pickUse the free trial credits first. If Brain earns its place, the $9 Brain AI add-on is the cheapest real step, but ClickUp may show you its new bundled plans instead, so screenshot your quote. Upgrades apply to the whole workspace, which gets expensive fast for large teams.Pro on the yearly plan is the only one that makes sense for an individual; the monthly price is steep. Free is really a taster for the meeting notes, not the inbox. Team is only worth it when several people handle the same clients.Solo users can stay on Free for a long time. For a team the honest answer is Business, because Plus leaves out the AI that makes Notion interesting now. Note that yearly billing is what gets you the $10 and $20 prices, and monthly billing costs more.

Pros and cons

AttributeClickUp BrainFyxerNotion
Pros
  • Knows your tasks, docs and chats, so answers are about your actual work
  • Can create and update tasks, not just chat
  • Super Agents handle routine admin on a schedule
  • Choice of GPT, Claude and Gemini models
  • Zero learning curve; drafts just appear in your normal inbox
  • Drafts match your tone well after a week or two
  • Sorting alone makes a noisy inbox manageable
  • Meeting notes and follow-up emails in the same tool
  • Replaces a handful of separate apps with one workspace
  • Databases are flexible enough to model almost any business process
  • Generous free plan for individuals
  • Official Claude connection makes it a shared memory for your AI tools
  • Huge template library and community
Cons
  • AI pricing keeps changing, with credits and limits added mid-contract
  • Pushy upsells, and AI often has to be bought for the whole workspace
  • ClickUp itself is often slow, laggy or buggy
  • Brain outages lasting days have been reported
  • Only useful if your team already lives in ClickUp
  • Expensive, and monthly billing is much dearer than yearly
  • Mis-sorts important emails occasionally
  • The free plan leaves out the inbox features people want it for
  • Credit limits on meetings and chat are hard to predict
  • Full access to your inbox is a lot of trust to hand a young company
  • No imposed structure, so workspaces get messy without discipline
  • The useful AI is held back for the $20 Business plan
  • Can feel slow with large databases and on patchy connections
  • Offline support is still limited
  • Easy to spend more time organising Notion than doing the work
