Which plan to pickIf you already pay for Claude, you have it. Try it on Free first, and move to Pro once you're making more than the odd document, because decks use up a Free allowance fast. Team makes sense when colleagues need to open and comment on the same documents.Business Standard is the plan to be on. Starter is cheap but leaves out Gemini in Docs, Sheets and Slides, which is the whole point. Only move to Plus if you need Vault or the extra storage, not for the AI.If your business is on a Microsoft 365 Business plan, Copilot Business is the one to trial, and only for the people who live in Outlook, Teams and Word all day. Don't buy it for everyone on day one. Check the current per-user price on Microsoft's site, because it changes with promotions.

AttributeClaude Docs & SlidesGemini in Google WorkspaceMicrosoft 365 Copilot
Pros

  • The document or deck comes out of the same chat that did the research
  • Edit directly or by asking, without copying text into another app
  • Exports to the formats clients and colleagues already use
  • Report and deck stay consistent because they come from one conversation
  • Already inside the apps your team opens every day
  • Answers from your own files, email and calendar
  • Bundled into the Workspace price rather than a separate bill
  • Sheets help is genuinely useful for non-technical people

  • Meeting recaps in Teams save real hours
  • Excel help makes data approachable for non-analysts
  • Enterprise security and permissions come built in
  • Agents can be built without a developer
Cons
  • No brand templates in Slides, so decks look generic next to Claude Design or Gamma
  • Rewriting a long doc eats your Claude usage limits quickly, especially on Free and Pro
  • Rough edges on complex formatting, and co-editing and version history are lighter than Google Docs
  • Decks are starting to look recognisably "made by Claude" to clients
  • Sometimes makes a Claude Doc when you wanted a plain Word file, and docs don't flow back into Project knowledge
  • Business Starter leaves out the Docs, Sheets and Slides features
  • Slide designs are plain and need a human tidy
  • Writing quality is behind Claude and needs more editing
  • Features and limits change often and vary by plan, which is confusing
  • An add-on cost on top of your existing licence, so it adds up fast
  • Writing quality is flatter than Claude or ChatGPT
  • Results suffer if your files and SharePoint are disorganised
  • Pricing and plan names change often and are hard to follow
  • Can be slow in large tenants
