What is it?

Deep Research is a mode inside Google's Gemini assistant. You give it a question, it shows you a research plan you can edit, then it spends several minutes reading dozens or hundreds of pages and writes a structured, multi-page report with sources.

It's a good fit for anything that would normally be a consultant's slide deck: an industry overview, a comparison of suppliers, a summary of what's changed in a market this year. The reports export straight into Google Docs.

Reports can be long-winded and occasionally repeat themselves. Perplexity is faster for shorter questions; this is for when you want the full write-up.
