Tavily MCP

Tavily is a search engine made for AI agents. Instead of a page of links, it hands Claude clean, relevant snippets from the live web, so answers are current and come with sources. Its official MCP server adds tools to extract full pages, map a site and crawl it.

It's hosted. Add it with one command and sign in through /mcp, or paste an API key into the URL instead. The free plan's 1,000 credits a month is plenty for everyday research. Bigger crawls and advanced searches use more.

Tavily, Exa and Perplexity cover similar ground. Tavily is quick and cheap for everyday searching, Exa is stronger at finding similar pages and companies, and Perplexity writes the fullest research reports.

Open your terminal in the project folder and run:
