What is it?

Notion is where a lot of small teams keep everything: notes, plans, client lists, content calendars. This official connector lets Claude read that workspace and write to it, so your meeting notes can become tasks and your research can land on a page.

You sign in once through your browser and choose which pages Claude can see. It is hosted by Notion, so there is nothing to install or keep updated.

What Claude can do once it's connected

  • Search your workspace and answer questions from it
  • Read pages and database rows
  • Create and update pages
  • Add rows to a database, like a CRM or content calendar
  • Leave comments

Install in Claude Code

Open your terminal in the project folder and run:

Command
claude mcp add --transport http notion https://mcp.notion.com/mcp

You'll be asked to sign in or paste an API key the first time you use it.

Who it's for

Anyone whose work lives in Notion.

Best for

  • Meeting notes into tasks
  • Writing docs from a brief
  • Updating a content calendar
  • Answering questions from your wiki

Why it made the list

It is the official server, it is free, and it turns Claude into a workspace assistant rather than just a coder.
