n8n MCP

n8n is the automation tool many people move to from Zapier when they want more power. Building workflows by hand means knowing hundreds of nodes and their settings. This server gives Claude that knowledge: describe the automation you want and Claude picks the right nodes, configures them, checks the whole workflow and deploys it to your n8n.

Without an n8n API key it's a reference and checking tool. Add your instance URL and API key and Claude can build and edit workflows directly. The author's advice is worth following: don't let AI edit live production workflows. Work on a copy and back up first.

Two things to know. It sends anonymous usage data by default; switch that off with N8N_MCP_TELEMETRY_DISABLED=true. And n8n now has its own official, built-in MCP server (Settings > Instance-level MCP), which is the simpler pick if you mainly want Claude to run and tweak workflows you've already built.
