Google Workspace MCP
Productivity & Comms
Gives Claude your Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs and Sheets so it can draft and organise.
Google's own Gmail connector: Claude searches threads, writes drafts and sorts labels.
This is Google's official Gmail MCP server. Claude can search your mail, read threads, write drafts and organise everything with labels, all through Google's own API.
It's still in Developer Preview, and right now it drafts rather than sends: there are no tools for sending, attachments or deleting yet. If you want Claude to handle Calendar and Drive too, the Google Workspace MCP covers more ground.
Setup takes a few minutes in Google Cloud: enable the Gmail MCP API, create an OAuth client, then connect it to Claude.
Open your terminal in the project folder and run:
claude mcp add --transport http gmail https://gmailmcp.googleapis.com/mcp/v1 --client-id YOUR_CLIENT_ID --client-secretOr add this to your project's .mcp.json:
# First enable the API in your Google Cloud project:
gcloud services enable gmailmcp.googleapis.com --project=PROJECT_ID
# Then create an OAuth client (Google Auth Platform > Clients) and use its ID above. You'll be asked to sign in or paste an API key the first time you use it.
Gmail users who want Claude to draft replies and keep the inbox tidy.
Why it made the list
It comes straight from Google, so you're not handing your inbox to a third-party server.
