Which plan to pickUse the 14-day trial properly, then decide if the chat alone is worth $20 a month to you. Better Days at $100 only makes sense if the Morning Brief and meeting prep save you real time every day. Existing users keep their free AI for now, with 30 days' notice before that changes, and Windows users aren't on the paid plans yet.Try the Free plan for a week to get a feel for how many credits a real task uses, then move to the $20 Pro tier. Only go higher if you run out most months or you want it to publish websites for you.Use it free: the sidebar assistant alone is worth having, and most people never need more. Pro makes sense if you want Perplexity's research tools anyway, but don't buy it just for the browser agent, since Pro's credits are a one-off bundle. Nobody needs Max just for the browser.

Pros and cons

AttributeDiaManusComet
Pros
  • Beautiful, calm design that is easy to pick up
  • Asking across several tabs at once works well
  • Connects to the work apps most teams already use
  • Skills save time on repeated prompts
  • Imports from Arc, Chrome and others in a few clicks
  • You describe the result, not the steps
  • Strong at research, reports and first-draft decks
  • Scheduled tasks turn it into a hands-off research assistant
  • Apps for phone, desktop and browser
  • Free on Mac, Windows, Android and iPhone
  • Feels like Chrome, with your extensions and bookmarks
  • Answers about the page come with sources you can check
  • Comet Plus is included with Perplexity Pro and Max
  • Good at summaries and comparing tabs
Cons
  • New Mac users lose the AI after the trial unless they pay $20 or $100 a month
  • Arc users miss Spaces, nested folders and Little Arc
  • No phone app, and Windows only arrived in October 2026
  • Reports of freezes, crashes and heavy battery use on Mac
  • Memory was removed in September 2026, and new sign-ups now need an Atlassian account
  • Credits are hard to predict and one big task can drain the monthly allowance
  • Output needs checking, and it can waste credits on dead ends
  • Not suited to automations that must run the same way every time
  • Few direct app connections compared with the automation tools
  • Pricing page does not load without JavaScript, so plan details are hard to confirm
  • Repeated prompt-injection attacks found by researchers in 2025 and 2026; risky with logged-in accounts
  • The agent is slow and sometimes gets stuck or gives up halfway
  • Browser control moved behind Computer credits in September 2026, so Pro users lost an included feature
  • Paying users complain of quiet limits, model downgrades and features being removed
  • Amazon sued over its shopping agent, and the case is still running
