Which plan to pickPro is enough to see what it can do for you. Browser tasks use your limits faster than chat, so if you hand it real work every day you'll likely need Max. Teams should use the Team plan so an admin can control which sites Claude can use. It's all free. Sign in with a free Opera account if you want your chats saved and more images; otherwise just download it and click Ask AI. Opera sells a separate VPN Pro, but you don't need it for the AI.Use it free: the sidebar assistant alone is worth having, and most people never need more. Pro makes sense if you want Perplexity's research tools anyway, but don't buy it just for the browser agent, since Pro's credits are a one-off bundle. Nobody needs Max just for the browser.

Pros and cons

AttributeClaude in ChromeOpera OneComet
Pros
  • Works in the Chrome you already use, with your logins
  • Included with any paid Claude plan
  • Handles websites that have no connector or API
  • Your skills and connectors work in the side panel
  • Anthropic publishes its prompt-injection test results
  • Free, with no account needed for the AI
  • Tab Islands make the AI's context easy to control
  • Handles files, YouTube videos and images, not just web pages

  • Good at summaries and comparing tabs
Cons
  • Desktop Chrome only: no Edge, Brave, Safari or phone
  • Web pages can hide instructions to trick it, and the risk isn't zero
  • Browser tasks use up your Claude limits quickly
  • Slower than doing a short task yourself
  • Not on the free Claude plan
  • No agent: it can't click, fill in forms or finish tasks on sites
  • Browser Connector for ChatGPT and Claude is still an opt-in test feature
  • Opera doesn't say which Gemini model you get or publish chat limits
  • Sponsored speed dials and news on the start page by default
  • Researchers found repeated ways in 2025 and 2026 for web pages to hijack the agent, so it's risky with logged-in accounts
  • The agent is slow and sometimes gets stuck or gives up halfway
  • Browser control moved behind Computer credits in September 2026, so Pro users lost an included feature
  • Paying users complain of quiet limits, model downgrades and features being removed
  • Amazon sued over its shopping agent, and the case is still running
