Which plan to pickIf you already pay for Claude Pro, you have it. If not, try Design on the Free plan and move to Pro when the daily limits get in the way, which happens quickly once you're iterating on a deck. Team makes sense when several people need the same brand setup.Business Standard is the plan to be on. Starter is cheap but leaves out Gemini in Docs, Sheets and Slides, which is the whole point. Only move to Plus if you need Vault or the extra storage, not for the AI.There's no half-way option: Business is the first plan with real Notion AI, so budget $20 a member a month. If your team is five people on Plus, that's an extra $50 a month, which is fair if meeting notes and search save each person an hour a week.

Pros and cons

AttributeClaude DesignGemini in Google WorkspaceNotion AI
Pros
  • Matches your brand far better than other generators
  • No extra subscription if you already use Claude
  • Handles decks, pages and prototypes in one place
  • Clean hand-off to Claude Code for building
  • You refine by talking, which non-designers find natural
  • Already inside the apps your team opens every day
  • Answers from your own files, email and calendar
  • Bundled into the Workspace price rather than a separate bill
  • Sheets help is genuinely useful for non-technical people
  • Includes the Gemini app and NotebookLM
  • Answers from your own knowledge base, not the web
  • Meeting notes land exactly where the project lives
  • Database autofill saves hours of manual tagging
  • Agent can do multi-step work across your workspace
  • Official Claude connection for deeper automation
Cons
  • Still new, so layouts occasionally need manual fixing
  • Slower to generate than Gamma
  • Uses up your Claude usage limits, which bite on Free and Pro
  • No standalone API for automated deck generation
  • Business Starter leaves out the Docs, Sheets and Slides features
  • Slide designs are plain and need a human tidy
  • Writing quality is behind Claude and needs more editing
  • Features and limits change often and vary by plan, which is confusing
  • Needs the Business plan, which doubles the cost of Plus
  • Useless if your knowledge isn't already in Notion
  • Writing quality is fine but behind Claude for long pieces
  • Search quality depends on how well your workspace is organised
