Which plan to pickTry it on Plus with a couple of real jobs. If you hand it work most days you'll run out of credits, and that's when Pro or extra credits make sense.Pro 100 is the cheapest way in for one person, and the bigger Pro tiers don't give you a better dot, just more room for the work it runs. If you're in the UK or Europe, or you want dots for staff, Business Premium is the only option. Don't upgrade from Plus just to try it until OpenAI publishes the usage terms that apply after the launch month.Use it free: the sidebar assistant alone is worth having, and most people never need more. Pro makes sense if you want Perplexity's research tools anyway, but don't buy it just for the browser agent, since Pro's credits are a one-off bundle. Nobody needs Max just for the browser.

Pros and cons

AttributeChatGPT WorkDots by OpenAIComet
Pros
  • Handles multi-step work across email, calendar and files, not just chat
  • Runs in the cloud, so scheduled tasks don't need your computer on
  • No separate subscription if you already pay for ChatGPT
  • Asks before important actions, and you can redirect it mid-task
  • Hands back finished documents, decks and spreadsheets
  • Keeps working on a goal without you starting each task
  • Its own cloud computer, so nothing runs on your laptop
  • Custom rules give clear control over what it can do alone
  • Reach it in Slack and Teams, not just ChatGPT
  • Chatting with it doesn't count against your ChatGPT limits
  • Free on Mac, Windows, Android and iPhone
  • Feels like Chrome, with your extensions and bookmarks
  • Answers about the page come with sources you can check
  • Comet Plus is included with Perplexity Pro and Max
  • Good at summaries and comparing tabs
Cons
  • Long tasks burn through credits quickly, especially on Plus
  • Long or complex jobs still go wrong and need checking
  • Reads a lot of your email, calendar and chat, which some teams won't accept
  • Only one Gmail account at a time for now
  • Needs Pro or Business Premium, at $100 a month or more
  • Pro users in the EU, UK and Switzerland can't use it yet
  • Tasks it runs still use your plan's limits, and later pricing for extra dots is unknown
  • Early reviews reported failed checkouts, dropped messages and permission bugs
  • An agent with access to your apps around the clock needs careful rules and regular checks
  • Researchers found repeated ways in 2025 and 2026 for web pages to hijack the agent, so it's risky with logged-in accounts
  • The agent is slow and sometimes gets stuck or gives up halfway
  • Browser control moved behind Computer credits in September 2026, so Pro users lost an included feature
  • Paying users complain of quiet limits, model downgrades and features being removed
  • Amazon sued over its shopping agent, and the case is still running
