Quick take

  • Figma's prompt-to-app builder. Describe what you want or attach a Figma frame and it builds a working, clickable version.
  • It reads your own designs and components, so the result matches your brand.
  • Publish to the web with your own domain, add a backend for logins and data, or push the code to GitHub.
  • Figma's free plan gets 150 AI credits a day, up to 500 a month, shared with every Figma AI feature. Serious use needs a Full seat at $16/mo.
  • Great for prototypes and small sites. For a bigger product, Lovable or Claude Code go further.

What is Figma Make?

Figma Make is the AI app builder inside Figma. You type what you want, or attach a frame from one of your Figma designs, and it builds a working version you can click, type into and test. Then you keep chatting to change it, or click on parts of it to tweak them by hand.

It's aimed at designers and teams who already use Figma. Because it can read your own designs and components, what it builds looks like your brand rather than a generic template. You can publish the result as a website with its own address or your own domain, add a backend to save data and handle logins, push the code to GitHub, or download it (Full and Dev seats).

The catch: it shares one pot of AI credits with the rest of Figma's AI features, and the free plan only gets a small daily allowance. It's best for prototypes, small sites and simple tools. For a bigger app you'll want Lovable or Claude Code, and the GitHub push only goes one way, into a repo Make creates for you.
