Xero MCP

Xero is the accounting software a lot of Australian and New Zealand small businesses use. Its official Claude connector lets you ask "what's my profit this quarter?", "who are my biggest debtors?" or "how does this month compare with last year?" and get an answer from your real books, with links back into Xero.

In Claude on the web or desktop, add it from the connector directory under Settings > Connectors and sign in to Xero. It's read-only, so Claude can't change anything, and it connects to one Xero organisation at a time. Claude's Small Business plugin adds ready-made skills on top, like a cash flow forecast or chasing overdue invoices.

For Claude Code, Xero also publishes an open-source server that can create invoices, contacts and more. It takes a developer setup, so most people should start with the connector.

Open your terminal (the text window where you run Claude Code) in your project folder, then paste this command to connect it:

The first time you use it, you'll be asked to sign in or paste an API key (a private code from the app that lets Claude use your account).
