Which plan to pickPro on the yearly plan is the only one that makes sense for an individual; the monthly price is steep. Free is really a taster for the meeting notes, not the inbox. Team is only worth it when several people handle the same clients.Solo users can stay on Free for a long time. For a team the honest answer is Business, because Plus leaves out the AI that makes Notion interesting now. Note that yearly billing is what gets you the $10 and $20 prices, and monthly billing costs more.Beginner is fine until you hit the five-project wall. Pro on the yearly plan is the obvious move after that. Business is for teams who want a shared space; it is not a substitute for a real project tool.

Cons
  • Expensive, and monthly billing is much dearer than yearly
  • Mis-sorts important emails occasionally
  • The free plan leaves out the inbox features people want it for
  • Credit limits on meetings and chat are hard to predict
  • Full access to your inbox is a lot of trust to hand a young company
  • No imposed structure, so workspaces get messy without discipline
  • The useful AI is held back for the $20 Business plan
  • Can feel slow with large databases and on patchy connections
  • Offline support is still limited
  • Easy to spend more time organising Notion than doing the work
  • Not a project management tool: no timelines, dependencies or dashboards
  • Prices went up at the end of 2025
