Which plan to pickStart on Pro to see which jobs it handles well for you. If you hand it real work most days you will hit the limits, and Max is the plan that makes it a daily tool.Run a couple of real jobs on the free plan to see what they cost in credits, then take Plus on monthly billing until you're sure. Turn on 'Ask First' so it checks before spending credits. Refunds are only available within 72 hours outside the EU and UK, and only if you've used less than half your allowance.Use it free: the sidebar assistant alone is worth having, and most people never need more. Pro makes sense if you want Perplexity's research tools anyway, but don't buy it just for the browser agent, since Pro's credits are a one-off bundle. Nobody needs Max just for the browser.

Cons
  • Agent tasks burn through usage limits quickly, especially on Pro
  • Long or complex jobs sometimes stall or produce wrong results
  • Scheduled tasks need your computer awake with Claude open
  • Files with hidden instructions can manipulate it, and screen control has no sandbox
  • Still rolling out: Team and Free don't have the merged version yet
  • Credits drain fast on agent, video and coding jobs, and failed tasks can still use them
  • Unused credits don't roll over and refund rules are strict
  • Plans change without much notice: 'unlimited' chat and some top models were pulled in late 2026
  • Constant upgrade and credit-offer pop-ups, and mixed support and refund stories
  • Big tasks are slow, and there were outages in October 2026
  • Repeated prompt-injection attacks found by researchers in 2025 and 2026; risky with logged-in accounts
  • The agent is slow and sometimes gets stuck or gives up halfway
  • Browser control moved behind Computer credits in September 2026, so Pro users lost an included feature
  • Paying users complain of quiet limits, model downgrades and features being removed
  • Amazon sued over its shopping agent, and the case is still running
