Which plan to pickStart on Pro. It is enough to build a small site or tool in evenings and weekends. If you hit the limit most days, Max 5x is the next step; it costs five times as much but usually works out cheaper than paying for the API directly.Skip Plus unless you are happy with Grok. Premium is the realistic starting point if you want Claude or OpenAI models, and budget for the extra usage billing on top of the $30. There is also a $200 Ultra plan with 50x the Plus usage for people who live in it.Start on the free Starter plan to see if the agent builds what you have in mind. Move to Core as soon as you want to keep an app online. Watch your credit usage in the first month, because that tells you whether Core is enough or you are better off on Pro.

Pros and cons

AttributeClaude CodeCursorReplit
Pros
  • Finishes real tasks end to end, not just suggestions you have to apply
  • Best-in-class at understanding a whole codebase before it changes anything
  • Runs in the terminal, desktop app, web, phone and the main editors
  • CLAUDE.md, Skills and MCPs make it fit your way of working
  • One Claude subscription covers both chat and coding
  • The clearest view of what an AI is doing to your code
  • Autocomplete is still the best in the category
  • Feels familiar instantly if you have used VS Code
  • Cloud agents and code review on the mid plans
  • Fastest route from an idea to a live app, with zero setup
  • Database, hosting and editor on one bill
  • Free plan lets you build and publish before paying
  • Friendlier than any other tool here for complete beginners
Cons
  • No free tier, and the Pro usage cap can run out in an afternoon of heavy work
  • The terminal is intimidating for non-developers at first
  • It will happily change things you did not ask about unless you set boundaries
  • Costs on Max or the API add up fast for teams
  • Cheap plans only give you Grok models
  • Claude and OpenAI usage is billed on top of the subscription, so the real cost is hard to predict
  • The pricing page is confusing and has changed several times this year
  • Agent runs are less thorough than Claude Code on big tasks
  • Metered agent usage makes costs hard to predict
  • Apps are tied to Replit hosting, so leaving takes work
  • Agent quality drops on larger or more unusual projects
  • Free apps go offline after 30 days and show a badge
