What is it?

Perplexity's research mode takes a question, plans the searches it needs, reads dozens of pages and writes a report with every claim linked to its source. Where a normal search gives you ten links, this gives you the reading done.

It's suited to questions with a real answer out on the web: a market overview, how a competitor prices, what the regulations say. The citations mean you can check anything that matters before you rely on it.

It's only as good as what's published online, and it will sometimes cite a weak source confidently. Click through on the important ones.
