Which plan to pickTry it on Plus with a couple of real jobs. If you hand it work most days you'll run out of credits, and that's when Pro or extra credits make sense.Run a couple of real jobs on the free plan to see what they cost in credits, then take Plus on monthly billing until you're sure. Turn on 'Ask First' so it checks before spending credits. Refunds are only available within 72 hours outside the EU and UK, and only if you've used less than half your allowance.Use it free: the sidebar assistant alone is worth having, and most people never need more. Pro makes sense if you want Perplexity's research tools anyway, but don't buy it just for the browser agent, since Pro's credits are a one-off bundle. Nobody needs Max just for the browser.

AttributeChatGPT WorkGensparkComet
Pros

Cons
  • Long tasks burn through credits quickly, especially on Plus
  • Long or complex jobs still go wrong and need checking
  • Reads a lot of your email, calendar and chat, which some teams won't accept
  • Only one Gmail account at a time for now
  • Credits drain fast on agent, video and coding jobs, and failed tasks can still use them
  • Unused credits don't roll over and refund rules are strict
  • Plans change without much notice: 'unlimited' chat and some top models were pulled in late 2026
  • Constant upgrade and credit-offer pop-ups, and mixed support and refund stories
  • Big tasks are slow, and there were outages in October 2026
  • Repeated prompt-injection attacks found by researchers in 2025 and 2026; risky with logged-in accounts
  • The agent is slow and sometimes gets stuck or gives up halfway
  • Browser control moved behind Computer credits in September 2026, so Pro users lost an included feature
  • Paying users complain of quiet limits, model downgrades and features being removed
  • Amazon sued over its shopping agent, and the case is still running
