Which plan to pickFree is only for testing; you'll hit the 1,000-record cap fast. Team is the plan for nearly everyone, and billing yearly saves about 17 percent. Keep editor seats to the people who actually change data, since viewers and form fillers are free.Don't start here for a weekend project; Neon or Supabase are free. When a product has paying customers, the $15 high-availability Postgres is the sensible entry point. Only go to Metal once Insights shows the disk is the slow part.Free is enough to build and show a prototype. Pro at $25 is good value because the price covers your whole team rather than each seat. Self-host only if you already run servers; the time it takes to keep one patched quickly costs more than $25 a month.

Cons

  • No free plan
  • Pricing is by server size and add-ons, so the real bill is hard to work out
  • Only the database; no auth, storage or functions
  • Overkill for anything that isn't live with paying users
  • Much smaller community and fewer tutorials than Supabase or Firebase
  • Few AI app builders support it out of the box
