Which plan to pickCheck whether your Creative Cloud or Firefly plan already includes Express Premium before paying. If not, Premium at $9.99 a month is cheaper than Canva Pro and enough for one person. Teams is good value for two or more people who need locked brand templates.Start with the free credits on a real job. If you retouch a few hundred photos a month, Basic Plus brings each photo to well under 10 cents. Pay as you go suits occasional work but costs two to three times as much per photo. Remember credits are lost if you let a yearly plan lapse for more than 30 days.Top up $10 to $20 of Playground credits and you will get a couple of hundred standard images. If you already pay for Krea, Magnific or Leonardo, try FLUX there first. Only look at open weights or a self-hosting licence if you have a developer and a reason to run it yourself.

Pros and cons

AttributeAdobe ExpressEvoto AIFLUX
Pros
  • Cheaper than Canva Pro, and often free with Creative Cloud
  • Adobe Stock, Adobe Fonts and Firefly are built in
  • Moves cleanly to and from Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Works inside Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot
  • Templates feel less overused than Canva's
  • Cuts portrait retouching time dramatically when you have many faces to fix
  • Fine slider control, so results can look natural
  • Glasses glare and backdrop cleanup save reshoots
  • You only pay for edited photos you export, and re-exports are free
  • Fast, regular updates with culling and video added in 2025 and 2026
  • FLUX 3 Image is among the most precise editors available
  • No subscription, and cheap per image
  • Open models you can run privately on your own PC
  • Built into many apps you may already use
  • Same price in the Playground and the API
Cons
  • Frequent 2026 reports of freezing, failed downloads and slow loading in the browser
  • Smaller template library than Canva
  • Lags on longer videos and multi-page projects
  • Some users report exports coming out downscaled or blurry
  • 250 AI credits a month on Premium runs out quickly if you generate a lot
  • Paying per exported photo adds up for high-volume photographers
  • Credit expiry and renewal rules confuse people, and some report surprise charges and slow support
  • Account and licence glitches sometimes lock paying users out until support steps in
  • Weaker raw editing and colour than Lightroom, so you usually still need both
  • Culling and batch results still need checking image by image
  • The Playground is a developer test bench, not a friendly design app
  • Licences are confusing: some open models are non-commercial
  • Strict filters, and users say the open models are weak at people
  • 4K images are expensive at about 61 cents each
  • Reviews of the small Klein model are mixed
