What is it?

GPT-6 Astra is the model behind the newest ChatGPT and Codex. OpenAI's pitch is less about chatting and more about doing: it can reason through long tasks, control software on your computer and keep going across many steps without hand-holding.

The reason it shows up in video-editing circles is computer use. Give it access to an editor like Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or an online tool such as invideo, and it can import footage, grade colour, sync clips and build cuts from a plain-English brief. It is not a video editor itself; it drives the one you already have.

It is on paid ChatGPT plans only, and because it works through other tools, results depend heavily on what you connect it to. For everyday writing and questions the standard ChatGPT models are more than enough.
