Point it at a book (PDF, EPUB, Word and other formats), a folder of documents or a mix of sources, and it builds a skill from it. You get a main file with the core ideas and a chapter index, one file per chapter, a glossary, a list of techniques and a cheat sheet.
Afterwards you type the book's short name and a question, like /storybrand one-liner, and Claude reads the right chapter and answers from the actual text. The creator measured this at 24 to 51 times fewer tokens than handing Claude the whole book each time.
It was built for technical books but works for company manuals, policies and course notes too. Only convert material you own, and keep skills made from paid books private.
Install in Claude Code
You need Python 3. In a terminal run npx skills add virgiliojr94/book-to-skill, or git clone https://github.com/virgiliojr94/book-to-skill.git ~/.claude/skills/book-to-skill. Then type /book-to-skill followed by the file path.
