What is it?

ElevenLabs makes some of the most lifelike AI voices around. Its official hosted MCP server lets Claude set up and manage ElevenLabs voice agents, the AI assistants that answer calls or chat on your site, and generate text-to-speech audio for voiceovers.

It's hosted, so there's nothing to install. Add it, then sign in through /mcp. In the Claude app it's in the Connectors directory. Agent changes go live straight away rather than as drafts, so test on a copy first.

Know what you're getting. The older local server, which also did voice cloning, sound effects, music and transcription, was archived in August 2026. The hosted one is mainly about voice agents, and its only audio tool is text-to-speech.

Install in Claude Code

Open your terminal in the project folder and run:

You'll be asked to sign in or paste an API key the first time you use it.
